Our September presenter, Chuck Real, is both a Civil War historian and a History instructor.  Real's relatives served in both the Union and Confederate armies during the Civil War.  Originally from McCook and now living in Omaha, he is on the adjunct faculty at Metropolitan Community College where he teaches American History and World Civilizations.  In addition, he provides programs on Irish and Celtic history and culture as well as the Civil War.  He is a registered speaker with the Nebraska Humanities Council.  His undergraduate degree in Education is from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and his graduate degree in History is from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
