Music of the Civil War, by David Marsh

This is a program from the Nebraska Humanities Council Speakers Bureau.  Here is the Council's description of the program:  Multi-instrumentalist Marsh brings the Civil War to life with songs and stories.  Children and adults alike will enjoy, learn, and sing along to songs from both sides of this epic American Conflict and hear the origins of patriotic songs like "Dear Old Dixie" and the "Battle Hymn of the Republic."

For a little background on the topic, here is a link to a site discussing Civil War music:

Introducing the Civil War Round Table Library!

This is something that has been in the works for some time.  A friend and client of Steve Guenzel recently lost her husband.  Jerry Starcher, though never a member of the Round Table (probably because he did not know of it) was an avid Civil War student with an extensive library of wonderful books on the topic.  Jan Starcher has been working her way through those books and donating them to the Round Table to make the foundation for what will be a great resource for Civil War studies.  At last, the Library is ready to debut with the first nineteen books.

These books will be stored at Steve Guenzel’s office, accessible to all Round Table members in good standing during normal business hours.  Members may visit Steve’s office to check out books.  Additionally, members may contact Steve before a Round Table meeting, and he will gladly bring the desired book to the member at the meeting.

Here is a link to the Library page on the website:
