Upcoming Historical Events

There is a history conference every other year at Fort Robinson.  This year, the topic is The Civil War in the American West.  Our own Jim Potter is one of the presenters!  It takes place at Fort Rob on April 28-30.  Here is a link to a brochure on the conference:

The Civil War in the American West

And a couple weeks before that, the 69th reunion of the Doolittle Raid will take place in Lincoln and at the SAC Museum on April 14-17.  (If you don’t know, the Doolittle raid was made up of 80 men in 16 Mitchell B-25 bombers that took off from the deck of the U.S.S. Hornet and bombed Tokyo in April of 1942, less than five months after Pearl Harbor).  All five of the surviving raiders will be there!  This is a huge and neat event largely put together by Bob Joyce, one of Richard Joyce’s sons–Richard was one of the 16 pilots of the Raid.  Here is a link to the Reunion's website:

Hope to see you all on the 23rd!
