women in the Civil War continue this month when we will be visited by
Elizabeth Van Lew, a Richmond abolitionist, Union spy during the war,
and Richmond’s postmistress after the war. Here are some links to

Dues
2008-2009 Dues are now
due! Please bring your check for $15.00 ($25.00 for a family
membership) to the meeting, or you may mail it to Civil War Round
Table, 1227 Lincoln Mall, Lincoln, NE, 68508. So far, 51 members
have paid their 2008-2009 dues, 5 being family memberships, 6 of these
being new members, for a total of $815.00 collected. The

The Platte Valley Civil
War Round Table (of Fremont) has a tentative schedule for all of
2009. The meetings are the second Monday of each month at the
Keene Memorial Library, 1030 N. Broad St., Fremont, NE. Here is their
schedule, at least as of now:

August: A Field Trip to either the UP Museum, the Dodge

September: Dave Wells, Stu, Bill, or Ray, topic of their
choice

December: “Pauline Cushman and other Women Spies” by Valerie
